Do Share prices and Stock prices reflect the performance of the company?

Hi everyone!

I just need to know whether the share or stock prices can be related to the way the organisation is performing.

If it increases, does that reflect that the management of the company is doing a good job in keeping its workers motivated and that if it lowers, it reflects that the managment is doing a poor job in keeping the company’s performance up to standard?

In addition, are stock and share prices related? and which reflects the company’s performance?

Share and stock are names for the same thing. One buys shares of stock. Performance partially represents current performance. It also represents the value of the underlying assets as well as expectations of future performance.

Performance and employee motivation are not always related. One could have a successful company with unmotivated or poorly motivated employees – especially in an industry that is highly automated. On the other hand, studies have shown that motivation and job satisfaction tends to be directly correlated to firm performance..

Lower stock prices also does not necessarily reflect management performance – for example, you could have great management but be in a failing industry, which would be reflected in declining stock prices. While good management might be able to identify the failing market, they may not be able to do anything about it (i.e., diversification, new products, etc.).

A Global Perspective on Real Estate Cycles $171 The real estate industry has been severely affected by recent developments in international capital markets. There has been a decline in real estate investment trust (REIT) share prices, and a decline in capital available for real estate ventures. These setbacks have coincided with serious financial problems of very large hedge funds and other institutional investors in the market for commercial mortgage-backed securities. This volume collects the revised papers first presented at a conference hosted by New York University’s Salomon Center on the impact of globalization on real estate business cycles. To this end, the conference offered new insights into the implications of U.S. and global real estate cycles on real estate securities including REITs and mortgage-backed securities as well as direct real estate investment. The most important insight is that the amplitude and frequency of the cycles differ from place to place and time to time. To the extent that this implies that real estate markets around the world are not yet fully integrated, there are opportunities for global investors. There are also risks; the markets are becoming more correlated, most particularly in periods of crisis. Indeed, the relative immaturity of the Thai real estate market contributed significantly to the extent and severity of the Asian financial crisis of 1997. These prompts encourage the reader to record day-to-day routines, such as feeding and sleeping patterns; likes and dislikes, for example, “my favorite bathtime toy” and “what I liked to eat”; and the baby’s “firsts”, from her first night at home, to her first smile, and her initial tottering steps. There is also space to record information about the world the baby was born into, such as the name of the prime minister or president, popular music, and prices of stamps and milk. A month-by-month section allows the parents to keep track of their baby’s constant achievements and changing behavior and also includes advice from Annabel Karmel on the baby’s development and handy tips to encourage her development. Eight recipes are punctuated throughout the book to inspire parents to make delicious, healthy food for their babies at various stages and also recipes for celebrations, such as a cake for the first birthday. Pockets and spaces for photographs are included throughout to ensure that every landmark is chronicled. This book is a wonderful and unique memento of a child’s first year that parents will look back on and share with their child in future years.
