T Accounts Templates Excel
Excel Question….populate?
I have a template and say when I type an Account# n cell D2 it automatically populates A2 & B2. Anyway the question is when I type it manual into the cell it populates fine but when I cut an paste into row D from another Excel Spreadsheet it doesn’t populate A & B.
It would be SOOOOO much easier if I could just cut and paste.
I have macros enabled.
It sounds like your cells A2 and B2 are doing some sort of lookup function on the value in cell D2. Are you certain that the value you are pasting is exactly the same as the value you are typing? Is there possibly a space or spaces at the end or beginning of the text you are copying? Try highlighting the cell you want to paste from and pressing “F2″ to edit the cell and see if there are any spaces at the beginning or end. If it is a calculated cell, press “F9″ after pressing “F2″ to calculate the cell. Then you can see if there are extra spaces. Press “ESC” instead of “Enter” when you are done looking at the calculated results so that you don’t overwrite your formula.
